Emergency or urgent care facilities the most important part of a hospital’s core brand. Anyone who is treated medically in an urgent care facility as a patient safely and feels well-cared for, generally recommends not only the emergency department, but the entire hospital enterprise. The main reasons for dissatisfied patients in urgent care facilities are (1) long waiting times and (2) the lack of information about the care and treatment processes.With easiER’s emergency patient management system ‘smartER’, existing urgent access processes are significantly optimized when the patient wants to enter the hospital care facilities. Patients can easily view the workload of the emergency room in real time, at any time, from anywhere; thanks to smartER’s mobile technologies directly on smartphones or tablets. Patients (or one of their family members for them) can book an appointment that is appropriate for them on their mobile device.

The smartER system offers further access to caregivers and specialists profiles and display directions to the selected facilities. The associated waiting times can be reduced significantly with smartER. smartER achieves this through the standardization of the access process and workflow in the form of a predefined digital workflow (triage rules bases on international triage systems). This triage system allows efficient allocation of facility and personnel resources. In particular, the internal processes at the interdisciplinary emergency facility is also optimized.

Through the introduction of digital patient registration and semi-automated resource allocation by the easiER system, the interface patient, family, doctor and rescue service can be reduced with nurses and doctors in the hospital. Duplication and loss of information will be avoided and thereby increasing patient safety while improving resource allocation.
